Volunteering at the Library

Students in grades 7 through 12 are eligible to volunteer at the library for one hour a week during the fall and spring semesters or up to two hours a week during the summer.  Volunteers assist in many ways including shelving materials, aiding librarians with programs or organizing the collections, or working at the Summer Reading Club Desk.

Interested students may pick up a volunteer application at the Reference Desk during the following months:

January for the January – May volunteer session
April & May for the June - July volunteer session
September for the September – December volunteer session.

Students must be Bartlett Public Library District cardholders. Ask at the Reference Desk for more information or see information below.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
Want to have an impact on what is offered for teens at the library?  Join our Teen Advisory Board (for teens in grades 7 – 12) and earn volunteer hours. We meet on the second Monday of each month at 7:00pm, enjoy some snacks, and discuss teen programs and materials (includes books and technology).

Questions? Call Lisa Barefield at 630-837-2855.

Student Advisory Trustee (SAT)
TAB members in grades 9 – 12 are invited to apply to be a Student Advisory Trustee on the BPLD Library Board.

Applications can be dropped off at Youth and Teen Services or emailed to Lisa at lbarefield@bartlettlibary.org
